The Artist

Arnold Landen was born in 1938 in Aachen / Germany. He studied philosophy and theology in München and Bonn.
He studied painting at the Kunstakadmie in Düsseldorf. His teachers were Gerhard Hoehme, Karl – Otto Goetz and Joseph Beuys.

He became a puppeteer and created puppet plays following dramas of world–literature:
Leila and Madschnun by Nizami;
Whereby men live by Lev Tolstoi;
Ramayana by Valmiki;
Sumidagawa by Juro Motomasa;
Faust 1 by Johann Wolfgang Goethe (this puppetplay was shown at the World–Exhibition EXPO 2000 in Hannover).

He works as a painter. Numerous expositions alone or in groups in Germany as well as in other countries.
